Welcome to Paperless Office IT,
The company was created to make life easier for small businesses to keep their office more organized and efficient. It has been a concept for many years and hopefully now with your help we will create a partnership to take the burden out of certain tasks and wasted time consumed by paper. The concept is again quite simple, let’s eliminate as much paperwork as possible while making it readily available to those who need it.
Let’s be honest, it’s extremely difficult to manage all the data we see daily at work. It does not matter what type of work you do, it’s all just a form of data. It could be a simple contact or company list and all its related data like quotes, orders, delivery addresses. However, there are so many pieces of data that seem to get attached to the company or clients. This is where Paperless Office IT can help, by tapping into your data and adding to it or creating a new system to not only allow you to enter all the data you desire but also attach any document needed. This allows you to stop keeping all those hard copies and even if you are required to keep them you can store them away entering a location code if needed.
About the President
My name is Kevin McDonald, and I am the Owner of Paperless Office IT, I have worked in the IT field for about 30 years. I am originally from Long Island, New York and recently settled here in beautiful Virginia. I worked for a manufacturing company for about 36 years, during my stay I had a few positions.
I ran the Production Manager for about 4 years. For a brief time, I ran the Purchasing department giving me great insight into our suppliers which was useful. Next took on the role as Quality Assurance Manager while also holding the title of Information Systems Manager.
As Quality Assurance Manager one of my tasks was to get the company ISO9001 certified. I hired a consultant, and we went to work documenting and flowcharting all our Standard Operating Procedures and everything else we needed. I sat in on every meeting and working with the consultant we created all the necessary documentation. One year later we received our certification from UL. Back in 2000 when we were certified I also published all the documents on our intranet site allowing everyone access to the documents. This became popular later with other companies. This was a big task however it was an incredible journey working with everyone in the company and a great accomplishment for ALL employees.
Another task that was needed while working in Quality was to automate the quality control system. While determined to allow only good products into production, we were not that good at documentation. So, I set out and wrote a database program to record everything we do, and we eliminated all clipboards we used to record the data that no one ever looked at anyway (sound familiar). The program contained an Inspection Sampling Program (ISP), Deviations, First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), Non-Conforming Material Report section (NCMR) and others.
While we were known as a manufacturer we also created and patented all our products, so we had an Engineering Department. What we did not have was a program to capture everything that was going on so to help them I wrote a program for all day-to-day operations. It contained Engineering Requests (ER), Engineering Change Order (ECO), Engineering Project (EP) and many other sections needed.
Sometime around 2006 a Quality Assurance Manager was hired, and I was now Information Systems Manager full time. This allowed me to completely rewrite the two programs into one program and in the .NET technology I am offering you now. Doing so allows more information to be available to those who need it and less development time. It also allowed me to develop the program for Windows forms as well as the intranet.
